He married Betsey COLE. Betsey was born 22 December 1796. Betsey was the daughter of Benjamin COLE and Patience WIGHTMAN. Betsey died 11 May 1880 in Horicon, Warren, NY, at 83 years of age.

Alvin BARTON and Betsey COLE had the following children:
