He married Celia A. KENT 4 June 1870 in Adams, MA.⁽¹⁴⁰⁰⁾ Celia was born December 1849 in Belchertown, Hampshire, MA. Celia was the daughter of Phileus KENT.

Charles was listed as the head of a family on the 1880 Census in Hoosick, Rensselaer, NY. Charles is called a photographer at his marriage and in the 1880 census.

Charles Estes BARTON and Celia A. KENT had the following children:

2822 i. Jessie Almyra⁹ BARTON was born in Charlemont, Franklin, MA 2 January 1871. She married unknown MILLER.

2823 ii. Edward BARTON was born in MA 1872.

2824 iii. Helena BARTON was born in Montague, Franklin, MA 20 December 1873.

2825 iv. Caroline Estes BARTON was born in Heath, MA 2 October 1875. Caroline died 10 January 1893 in Agawam, Hampden, MA, at 17 years of age.⁽¹⁴⁰¹⁾
