241. Abia⁶ BARTON (Joshua⁵, Joshua⁴, Samuel³, Matthew², Edward¹) was born in Spencer, MA October 25, 1769.⁽²⁷⁵⁾ Abia died 20 February 1847 in Warren, Worcester, MA, at 77 years of age.

He married twice. He married Eunice PROUTY May 26, 1793 in Spencer, MA.⁽²⁷⁶⁾ He married Philindia WOLCOTT August 22, 1813 in Spencer, MA.⁽²⁷⁷⁾

Abia was listed as the head of a family on the 1800 Census in Spencer, MA.

Abia BARTON and Eunice PROUTY had the following children:

+ 496 i. Lefa or Relief⁷ BARTON was born October 18, 1793.

497 ii. Arnold BARTON was born in Spencer, MA October 27, 1794.⁽²⁷⁸⁾ He married Sarah KELLEY 6 September 1828 in Tewksbury, Middlesex, MA.

+ 498 iii. Rice BARTON was born January 22, 1797.

+ 499 iv. Cheney BARTON was born June 30, 1799.

+ 500 v. Elliot BARTON was born August 11, 1801.

+ 501 vi. Silas Ransom BARTON was born July 26, 1804.

+ 502 vii. Stephen Van Rensalear BARTON was born July 26, 1804.

+ 503 viii. Washington BARTON was born October 30, 1807.

Abia BARTON and Philindia WOLCOTT had the following children:

504 ix. Chester P. BARTON was born 1821. Chester died 6 March 1871 in Brimfield, Hampden, MA, at 49 years of age.⁽²⁷⁹⁾

+ 505 x. Jane BARTON was born about 1830.
