241. Abia⁶ BARTON (Joshua⁵, Joshua⁴, Samuel³, Matthew², Edward¹) was born in Spencer, MA October 25, 1769.⁽²⁸⁰⁾ Abia died 20 February 1847 in Warren, Worcester, MA, at 77 years of age.

He married twice. He married Eunice PROUTY May 26, 1793 in Spencer, MA.⁽²⁸¹⁾ Eunice was born about 1765. Eunice was the daughter of Adam PROUTY and Dorothy HOWE. He married Philindia WOLCOTT August 22, 1813 in Spencer, MA.⁽²⁸²⁾

Abia was listed as the head of a family on the 1800 Census in Spencer, MA.

Abia BARTON and Eunice PROUTY had the following children:

+ 508 i. Lefa or Relief⁷ BARTON was born October 18, 1793.

509 ii. Arnold BARTON was born in Spencer, MA October 27, 1794.⁽²⁸³⁾ He married Sarah KELLEY 6 September 1828 in Tewksbury, Middlesex, MA.

+ 510 iii. Rice BARTON was born January 22, 1797.

+ 511 iv. Cheney BARTON was born June 30, 1799.

+ 512 v. Elliot BARTON was born August 11, 1801.

+ 513 vi. Silas Ransom BARTON was born July 26, 1804.

+ 514 vii. Stephen Van Rensalear BARTON was born July 26, 1804.

+ 515 viii. Washington BARTON was born October 30, 1807.

Abia BARTON and Philindia WOLCOTT had the following children:

516 ix. Eunice BARTON was born in Brimfield, Hampden, MA 1813. Eunice died 14 May 1860 in Enfield, MA, at 46 years of age.⁽²⁸⁴⁾ She married Austin Woodbridge CLARK 1833 in Warren, MA. Austin was the son of Aaron CLARK and Hannah GAY.

517 x. Chester P. BARTON was born in Warren, Worcester, MA 1821. Chester died 6 March 1871 in Brimfield, Hampden, MA, at 49 years of age.⁽²⁸⁵⁾

+ 518 xi. Jane BARTON was born about 1830.
