115. John⁵ BARTON (Caleb⁴, Samuel³, Matthew², Edward¹) was born in Oxford, Worcester, MA October 12, 1726.⁽¹⁴⁹⁾ John died in Andover, Windsor, VT.

He married Abigail DANA July 23, 1746 in Oxford, Worcester, MA. Abigail was born October 29, 1731 in Oxford, Worcester, MA. Abigail was the daughter of Phineas DANA and Hannah TWITCHEL. Abigail died April 27, 1826 in Ludlow, Windsor, VT, at 94 years of age.

John lived on Barton Hill in the eastern part of Oxford.

John BARTON and Abigail DANA had the following children:

+ 279 i. Asa⁶ BARTON was born May 21, 1747.

+ 280 ii. Azubah BARTON was born August 15, 1749.

+ 281 iii. Phinehas BARTON was born May 9, 1752.

+ 282 iv. John BARTON was born January 23, 1755.

+ 283 v. Caleb BARTON was born December 17, 1756.

284 vi. David BARTON was born in Oxford, Worcester, MA March 30, 1759. There was a saying that David "was the handsomest man that ever walked into Oxford meeting house."

285 vii. Abigail BARTON was born in Oxford, Worcester, MA May 25, 1761. Abigail died circa 1784. She married Joseph SNELL January 27, 1783 in Dudley, MA. Joseph was born in Ashford, CT.

+ 286 viii. Jeremiah BARTON was born June 25, 1763.

+ 287 ix. Edward BARTON was born 28 August 1765.

288 x. Hannah BARTON was born in Oxford, Worcester, MA July 21, 1767. She married Seth WARREN August 17, 1788 in Charlton, Worcester, MA. Seth was born in Charlton, Worcester, MA.

+ 289 xi. Parley BARTON MD was born March 6, 1770.

290 xii. Amos BARTON was born in Oxford, Worcester, MA June 1, 1771.

+ 291 xiii. Rufus BARTON was born August 11, 1774.

+ 292 xiv. Phebe BARTON was born August 11, 1774.
