He married Fannie E. BROWNELL 5 October 1854 in Williston, Chittenden, VT. Fannie was born October 1829 in South Reading, Windsor, VT.

Henry was listed as the head of a family on the 1880 Census in Hartford, Hartford, CT. The following individuals are also linked to this event: Charles D. BARTON (son); George H. BARTON (son); Fannie E. BROWNELL (wife). Henry married and was in the insurance business in Hartford.

Henry P. BARTON and Fannie E. BROWNELL had the following children:
