He married Rachel Loring BEELER. Rachel was born 1 March 1889 in Everett, Middlesex, MA.

Robert was listed as a lodger living with Frederick MERRILL's household on the 1910 Census in Boston, Suffolk, MA. Robert was listed as the head of a family on the 1920 Census in Revere, Suffolk, MA. The following individuals are also linked to this event: Russell Otis BARTON (son); Rachel Loring BEELER (wife). Somehow it seems fitting that with "Otis" as his middle name, Robert is an elevator repairman in the 1910 and 1920 census. In 1910 he was single and living at a hotel on Bulfinch Place.
