779. Capt. David⁷ BARTON (Stephen⁶, Stephen⁵, Edmund⁴, Samuel³, Matthew², Edward¹) was born in Oxford, Worcester, MA August 15, 1808.⁽⁸⁴⁰⁾ David died March 12, 1888 in Oxford, Worcester, MA, at 79 years of age.⁽⁸⁴¹⁾

He married Julia Ann Maria PORTER September 30, 1839 in Vienna, Kennebec, ME.⁽⁸⁴²⁾ Julia was born January 23, 1814 in Vienna, Kennebec, ME. Julia was the daughter of Benjamin PORTER and Pamela BARTON. Julia died July 14, 1899 in North Oxford, MA, at 85 years of age. David served in the civil war as a quartermaster with the rank of Captain. He married his first cousin Julia, daughter of Benjamin and Pamela (Barton) Porter of Vienna and granddaughter of Dr. Stephen Barton. He was a lawyer in the 1850 census.

Capt. David BARTON and Julia Ann Maria PORTER had the following children:

+ 1758 i. Ada Idelia⁸ BARTON was born January 18, 1847.

+ 1759 ii. Ida Adelia BARTON was born January 18, 1847.

+ 1760 iii. Stephen Emory BARTON was born December 24, 1848.

+ 1761 iv. Mary Anna BARTON was born December 11, 1851.
