1507. Walter C.⁸ BARTON (Phinehas Dwight⁷, Ezekiel⁶, Ezekiel⁵, Elisha (Elijah)⁴, Samuel³, Matthew², Edward¹) was born in Granby, Hampshire, MA 5 May 1833. Walter died 29 March 1896 in Hyde Park, MA, at 62 years of age.⁽¹⁴⁶¹⁾

He married Martha SMITH 6 August 1861 in Hadley, Hampshire, MA.⁽¹⁴⁶²⁾ Martha was born 14 February 1833 in Granby, Hampshire, MA. Martha was the daughter of Erastus SMITH and Polly WIFE OF ERASTUS SMITH. Martha died 29 December 1889 in Hyde Park, MA, at 56 years of age.⁽¹⁴⁶³⁾

Walter was listed as the head of a family on the 1880 Census in Lynn, Essex, MA. The following individuals are also linked to this event: Mary Louise BARTON (daughter); Minnie M. BARTON (daughter); Martha SMITH (wife). Walter is called a clergyman at his marriage.

Walter C. BARTON and Martha SMITH had the following children:
