171. John⁶ BARTON (Isaac⁵, Penuel⁴, Ebenezer³, William², Edward¹) was born in Raymond, Cumberland, ME 3 September 1797.⁽²⁰⁶⁾ John died 8 MAR 1851 in Raymond, Cumberland, ME, at 53 years of age.⁽²⁰⁷⁾

He married twice. He married Elizabeth MAYBERRY. Elizabeth was born 24 July 1797. Elizabeth was the daughter of Richard MAYBERRY. Elizabeth died 6 March 1849 in Raymond, Cumberland, ME, at 51 years of age. He married Elsie WIFE OF JOHN BARTON widow estes circa 1850.

John was listed as the head of a family on the 1830 Census in Raymond, Cumberland, ME. The following individuals are also linked to this event: Mary BARTON (free wh female 00-05); Elizabeth A. BARTON (free wh female 00-05); Miranda BARTON (free wh female 05-10); Elizabeth MAYBERRY (free wh female 30-40). Daughters Elizabeth and Octavia were living with Sister Miranda and her husband James Strout at the 1850 census.
