1488. George Hamilton⁸ BARTON (Alexander Hamilton⁷, David⁶, David⁵, Elisha⁴, Samuel³, Matthew², Edward¹) was born in Mexico, Oswego, NY July 8, 1839. George died July 10, 1885 in Jersey City, Hudson, NJ, at 46 years of age.

He married Sarah Elizabeth FISHER April 14, 1870 in Clyde, NY. Sarah was born September 16, 1848. Sarah was the daughter of Adam FISHER and Elizabeth VAN DER COOK.

George was listed as the head of a family on the 1880 Census in Jersey City, Hudson, NJ. The following individuals are also linked to this event: George Fisher BARTON (son); Sarah Elizabeth FISHER (wife).
