215. Bazeleel⁶ BARTON (Bezaleel⁵, Samuel⁴, Samuel³, Matthew², Edward¹) was born in Sutton, Worcester, MA June 4, 1754.⁽²²⁵⁾ Bazeleel died October 5, 1833 in Croydon, Sullivan, NH, at 79 years of age.⁽²²⁶⁾

He married twice. He married Lydia POWERS May 27, 1784 in Croydon, Sullivan, NH.⁽²²⁷⁾ Lydia was born June 25, 1765 in Mendon, Worcester, MA. Lydia was the daughter of Deacon Stephen POWERS and Lydia WINTER. Lydia died July 29, 1798 in Croydon, Sullivan, NH, at 33 years of age.⁽²²⁸⁾ He married Phebe BOYCE Emerson after 1799. Phebe was born circa 1760. Phebe died November 7, 1841 in Croydon, Sullivan, NH, at 81 years of age.⁽²²⁹⁾

Bazeleel was listed as the head of a family on the 1790 Census in Croydon, Cheshire, NH. He was listed as a resident in the census report 1820 in Croydon, Sullivan, NH. Bazeleel and his brothers Peter and Benjamin moved to Croydon, NH before 1800 but after 1790. The 1800 census shows Bazeleel with a wife, 1 young (under 10) son, a young daughter and two teenaged daughters. He was one of the company which dispursed the Massachussetts Legislature from Worcester at the beginning of the Revolution. He was noted for his great physical strength and served on the school committee in 1797 and as selectman 1786-87.

Bazeleel BARTON and Lydia POWERS had the following children:

+ 427 i. Rachel⁷ BARTON was born August 30, 1785.

428 ii. Lydia BARTON was born in Croydon, Sullivan, NH September 11, 1787. Lydia died July 20, 1851 in Croydon, Sullivan, NH, at 63 years of age.⁽²³⁰⁾ She was baptized 20 July 1788 in Croydon, Sullivan, NH.

+ 429 iii. Carlton BARTON was born January 1, 1790.

430 iv. Cyrus BARTON was born in Croydon, Sullivan, NH circa 1792. Cyrus died 15 September 1796 in Croydon, Sullivan, NH, at 4 years of age.⁽²³¹⁾

431 v. Cynthia BARTON was born in Croydon, Sullivan, NH 1 July 1798.
